RE-CELEBS 2010The face of Re-Act Fashion Show 2010: Kinga Rusin Kinga Rusin graduated from the University of Warsaw, Faculty of Italian Philology. We could first admire her on TV at the beginning of the 1990s. In 1994 she was awarded her first Wiktor, for the television discovery of the year. In 1998 she became a host of TV program „Wizjer TVN.” Since 2005 she is a co-host of the weekend “Dzień Dobry TVN,” and from 2007 a host of “You Can Dance – Po prostu tańcz.” In 2008 she was awarded Wiktor of the public. Kinga Rusin is a co-founder and co-owner of PAT&RUB—brand of natural cosmetics, which entered the market in 2008. She loves horse-riding skiing and kite-surfing. She shares her passions with her two daughters Kinga Rusin is also a vice-president of Foundation ABCXXI—Cała Polska czyta dzieciom.
SPECIAL FASHION SHOWS: AGNIESZKA KAWALA -SURMA (POLAND)
A representative of the new generation of designers, SAPU graduate and a member of Young Polish Designers Foundation. She has her own interne boutique kawala-surma.com, as well as works for the popular internet boutique Saltandpepper. Her strength lies in the elaborate work on every piece of her collections. She decides herself on the exclusive, good value of her clothes and original design Dresses, jackets, or skirts in her collection have unique, ultra-feminine character. In the last few years, Agnieszka Kawala-Surma created original collections of clothes and took part in many fashion shows.
LU FLUX (LONDYN) A passion for vintage fabrics and traditional methods of craftsmanship form the foundations of the Lu Flux brand. Pleating, knitting and patchworking techniques are honoured and employed to produce eco-luxurious garments that celebrate the romance of the ‘one-off’. Traditional techniques assume modern shapes where fabrics and patterns associated with delicacy and gentle beauty are presented in bold sculptural forms that are playful, humorous, colourful and at times illusionary. Lu Flux graduated in 2006 from Edinburgh College of Art with her final collection winning the Ocean Terminal Scottish Fashion Graduate Award. Subsequently she went to work as a design assistant for Bernhard Willhelm in his Paris studio. Lu returned to the UK in 2007 to start her own label. Since then Lu Flux has shown at Glasgow Fashion Week and debuted at London Fashion Week in February 2009 at Vauxhall Fashion Scout’s ‘Ones to Watch’ show. Lu Flux currently lives and works in London. JURY OF THE RE-ACT FASHION SHOW 2010 JOANNA PARADECKA Joanna Paradecka-Zicz, founder of the brand Paradecka and author of the Hand Remade line, joined the jury of the this year's edition of RE-ACT Fashion Show. She graduate from the Department of Clothes Design of the Academy of Arts in Lodz. She spent six years abroad where she worked for advertising campaigns of such brands like Davidoff or Mars International. She designed a clothing collection for a Danish clothing company from Copenhagen which was presented in Denmark and Sweden. After returning to Poland she founded her own workshop and created a recycled collection named Hand Remade. The basic of Joanna's projects are fabrics and knitwear acquired from entire elements of clothes. She creates dresses from shawls, scarves from shirts, coats from jackets, jackets from trousers and trousers from sweaters. 95 %of the materials used for the production come from recycling. MONIKA ONOSZKO Designer and fashion journalist. She graduate from Academy of Arts in Lodz and until now is the only student from Europe that graduated from the department of designing kimonos at the Institute of the Onoe Fashion in Japan. She speaks five languages, among others Japanese. She cooperated with Bros Warner. She creates clothes for many stars of the Polish screen and stage, as well as stage costumes. Above all, she is a designer but the journalistic education seems also to be useful in her life. For many years she has been writing about fashion to trade publishing companies. Recently she became the boss of the department of the fashion at the Promedia publishing company. She also trains in trends, participates as a jury in many competitions associated with the fashion and works as an art director in onoMono organization. Since few years she is creating costumes and film sets out for theatres in Poland, for example: OPT Gardzienice - Wodzimierz Staniewski, Theatre of Poland in Wroclaw or the Theatre Wspolczesny in Warsaw. She has on her account of over 14 collections which she presented at almost 100 fashion shows in Poland, Germany, Japan, Belgium, Italy, Czechs or Slovakia. The fourteenth collection titled „La Strada” was photographed on the photo session in New York and than published in the most prestigious magazine about the fashion - „ Vogue ”. Part of the collection can be seen in the Total Spec Magazine, and in a few New York magazines about fashion and art, for example C-Heads. Jilt is a sport clothing brand for which she designed very functional and feminine outfits for the skiing.
BARTEK MICHALEC One the most promising figures of Polish fashion. Above all Bartek is a designer and a fashion journalist, but he is also a stylist of Polish celebrities. Despite his young age he styles such personalities as Kayah, Kasia Figurska, Maja Ostaszewska, Kinga Rusin, Kuba Wojewódzki, Beata Sadowska or Tomasz Lis. In 2003 he debuted with the collection „ Perplexity ”, which made him associated with clothing- installations made from old shirts. In the year 2004 he began cooperation with the Japanese fashion market, selling his collections in Tokyo showrooms and shops. In 2006 he designed costumes for Maria Peszek' s concert tour. He also worked as the journalist for „ Viva! ” magazine. He finds his inspirations in everyday objects, recently also in cases for musical instruments. This year Bartek will be a jury of RE-ACT Fashion Show, judging young designers.
MARIA SADOWSKA Singer, arranger, compositor, producer and leader in one person...Maria Sadowska is connected to music since always. As a child she has been already known to audience from the programms like TĘCZOWY MUSIC BOX or CO JEST GRANE. She has recorded her first solo album when she was 14, the next one three years later. She recorded two albums in Japan. In January 2004, her first Polish 'mature album' has been shown, where we could hear the connection of poetry by Maria Jasnorzewska - Pawlikowska with the modern clubbing music and jazz. Sadowska is not only a singer - she says that she is the producer at the first place. She is also a film director, her short film WINGS was presented on many international festivals, wher it got awards. In 2007 she directed debut full film "NON-STOP COLOR" made with the cooperation of Association of Polish Filmmakers. As a director she made 4 music videos to her songs form the cd: „Chcemy tylko tańczyć” , „Tomaszów”, ”Tylko tu i teraz”, "Rewolucja", which are shown in the public and commercial tv. Maria is also an author of music videos for many Polish artists as: Renata Przemyk, Kasai Nosowskaj, Edyta Geppert, Marcin Rożenek, Krzysztof Kiliański or Michał Bajor. This is why she was nominated three times to YACH's awards. MAŁGORZATA BAŁDOWSKA A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Faculty of Pattern-designing. She has been connected to the Warsaw School of Advertising from the very beginning. She is a co-founder and head of the School of Visage. She has been interesting in make-up and body painting for many years now. She worked with Anna Popek, Anna Serafińska, Grażyna Wolszczak, Anicja Majewska, Sylwia Wysocka, Agnieszka Woźniak, Paulina Holtz and Maria Pakulnis. She is also a visagiste of Magda Pawlicka.
LIDIA POPIEL Photographer, academic teacher of the Warsaw Film School, editor-in-chief of finelife.pl magazine. Professionally is dealing with photography since1985. On her scorecard she has pictures made for many magazines, among others for Zwierciadlo, Pani, Sukces. She specializes in portrait photography, however she dosen't avoid fashion and advertisement. She kept a column about fashion in added to Rzeczpospolita - Fifth Avenue. She is active in the foundation „Poland is a woman”. She is a chairwoman of the council of signatories in the Batch of Women. At present she is also a journalist of Café Polsat – she the host of the program Looksus. In 2007 the president of the city Gdańsk granted Lidia Popiel with the title of the Ambassador of Amber 2008 / 2009. In 2009 she was put in the ranking of the most influential women in Poland. This year, togehter with portal www.finelife.pl, she will support the idea of RE-ACT, also by being a member of the jury.
MATEUSZ STANKIEWICZ 29 year old photographer from Warsaw joined the jury of RE-ACT 2010. Enthusiast of the Kapuściński's prose and war films is photographing Polish stars, his work is being shown not only in Polish publications, but worldwide. His is one of the best young photographers of the fashion which values the quality, convenience, as well as the minimalism of the form. His photos can be seen at www.afphoto.pl
MICHAŁ ZACZYŃSKI A journalist, columnist and the head of the fashion section „Styl życia” in „Newsweek Polska.” In his articles, he touches upon the topics of fashion, architecture, pattern-designing and the market of luxurious goods. He is also a columnist for quarterly „Moda Męska” and „Kawa.” He published his articles in “Wprost,” “Elle,” “Sukces,” “Coaching,” and “Fotopozytyw.” Michał Zaczyński specializes in fashion. He is also an author of the popular column published in his own weekly magazine and a regular guest of radio and television programs dedicated to fashion and lifestyle. He was the head of the jury at “New Look Design” and “Cracow Fashion Awards” and the member of the jury at “Off Fashion,” “Modne Miejsca,” “Złota Nitka” and “Fashion Website Award.” He was also a lecturer at the School of Artistic Clothing Design in Cracow (March 2010), Polish-Italian School of Design and Management Via Moda in Warsaw (October 2010). Together with Andy Rotenberg and Jacek Żakowski Michał Zaczyński is a member of Mediateka foundation’s board.
