Competition for the best recycling outfit RE-ACT Fashion Show 2009

Jury: Gregor Clemens (LAC ET MEL), Alexandra von Schledorn (Fashion&Design), Grzegorz Matląg (Maldoror, designer), Agnieszka Kawala-Surma(YPDF, designer), Marek Straszewski (photographer) judged 20 final collections and had chosen 3 the best ones. These are:

BAJER ALEKSANDRA - "Eko"(Eco)

Student of IIIrd year on Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice on faculty of painting and iind year in College of Art Clothes Designing in Cracow. : " My interests are connected mainly with the faculty of my studies, these are: designing, graphics and litography and serigraph, graphics printing on the fabrics where later the collections of outfits are made, photography and painting" says Ola.

KAŁUŻA ANNA - "Plastic foil variations"

Student of IInd year of WSSiP in Łódź, graduate of MSKPU in Warszaw. Competiton outfits are the dresses made from foil in haute couture style. "The collection has delicate, geometrical patterns which shows the delicate atmospher of the outfit."says Ania.

KOCZUR BARBARA - "Three stages of life"

Graduate of Institute of Art at University of Silesia in Katowice, a student of first-year School of Art Design Clothing in Cracow and graduated from the Secondary School of Clothing in Katowice. The inspiration for the collection was a late work of Gustav Klimt. The starting point is the symbolism of the painting "The three phases of human life" which can be applied to the life of object. Designed elements with the geometrical forms which showthe way ofpainting by Klimt, his technique. Title of the collection shows the need to reinforce the idea of recycling the chemical and formal future of some object and mark it on the label which would mark out the eco manufacturers.

KACZYŃSKA EDYTA - "Trash Folk'

Student of College of Art and Designing in Łodz. The projects are inspirate by the musketeers. This is a handmade piece of art and the clothes are made from plastic bags for trash. Laces are mad from covers.

TRUSIEWICZ ELŻBIETA - "Bag-for-life"

Students of SAPU in Cracow." The inspiration for my new recycling collection are foils, plastics, gums and foams. All of this let me to build the constructions. I think that the huge challenge was to made this clothes from unconventional materials, this is why the work at this collection was so satisfying." says Elzbieta.

SOBCZYK KAMIL - "Sometime Samurai"

Student of Academy  of Fine Arts in Łódź. "My collection is inspirated by the japan design and the culture of east. The colours is taken from the newest trends in the market - Heimtextil. Small clashes of light papers and silicon are in the collection which play a contrast as an organic element."

STEJUK KAROLINA I DĘBECKA AGNIESZKA - "Cock'n'Bull Story" - "Alternacion"

Students of Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź known as" Cock'n'Bull Story". The collection "Alternacion" is all made from recycling material which is a paper. Used yarns, textures and wrap paper imitate the elegant fabrics. This is why the collection looks like sport elegance with trends on the top now.

SUŁEK KATARZYNA - "Coco Mayaki"

Student at the European Center for Education - Visage and styling. The collection consists of three dresses : black ball one made of gardening plastic foil with corset and decorated with sequins. The model wears the baroque wig with the construction made of black flowers.   The second dress is a short skirt with the belt under the waist made of unique  grey fabric, inside the skirt there are black baloons, white tights and the headband with black flowers. The third skirt is longer and blouse is made asa corset decorated in the same way.

KALIŃSKA MARTA - "Papierowe aniłki Charliego"

Student of College of Art and Design in Łódź. The clothes are made from colorful stripes made in confectionery way. Inspirated by Charlie's Angels: the connection of dynamic and sexy nature with heaven's colours.

KAWICKA JAGODA - "Re-Tro"

Student of the first year of Jewelery and Clothes in College of Art and Design in Łódź. Collection is inspirated by film fashion from 50's. She put the attention on the women's shape in X letter which she obtained from vast skirt and hight waist . At the beginning the filma and sound tape have appeared and than, the idea with photos has came. u

NIEMYWSKA MARTA - "Rococco"

Student of Design Faculty at Warsaw ASP. The "Rokokko" collection is inspired by the the perion. The collection is alsoa try to connect with that time. Author used 360 mineral water bottles, amount which she will use in the whole year.

JAWORSKA MONIKA - "Heroine"

Graduate of Philosophy on PAT at Cracow, now the student of Ist yearat SAPU in Cracow. She is interestedm in esthetics and beauty which is an art and socio-psycho "body language" which are reflected in the preson's outfit. Her collection " Heroine"(female form from Hero) is inspired by the knight's armor, ichthyosis and the world of ocean creatures - for her - the story creatures.

ŚWIECZKOWSKA SYLWIA and EWERT JAROSŁAW - "Flora Beś"

Two students from Technical University. Effective dresses are made from paper dishes which are the best prof, that the fashion and nature have loads in common. Geometrical shapes inspirated by flowers and original futuristic vision which accents women's shapes and abstract form of flowers wut the creation surface create intrigal, rytmical facture.

RADZIOCH TOMASZ - "Sei.Shuitsu-future"

Student of SAPU in Cracow. The collection is in confectionery spirit to show the audience that the pro-ecological attitide to life is not only Haute Couture, reserved for only few but it is daily routine of life to care about the environmen. The collection reflectsbalance searching between eastern minimalism and western culture of consumerism and the clash of two micro cultures living on the same planet. The collection is a connection of porcelain (eastern minimalism) and plastic bags (western consumery). The symbol of childhood is LEGO, decoration element which tries to connect two microcultures.

TANASIEWICZ KATARZYNA SARA - "Zdeszczowanie" (Raining)

Student of Vth year at the faculty of Art at the University of Rzeszów and student of Ist year in College of Art Clothes Designing in Cracow. She is interested in abstract painting and artistic photography. Since few years she makes the jewelery and clothes.

ULIASZ WIOLA - "Kratong"

Student of Ist year in the International College of Outfit Design. The collection "Kratong" is made from alternative material : plastic which is used to drawers in case of slippery. It is inspirated by nature and lotus flower.
